Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Position Overview
The HT Group has partnered with a growing, private equity-backed multi-family real estate platform based in Atlanta in the search for an experienced and strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for an immediate need. The CFO will be a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for building a scalable finance function, supporting mergers and acquisitions, and driving financial strategy to enable continued growth and value creation. This role partners closely with the CEO and investors and plays a critical role in shaping the company’s long-term success.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Serve as a strategic partner to the CEO and Board, providing financial insights to support growth, capital allocation, and value creation initiatives
- Participate in board meetings, strategic planning, and key business initiatives
- Build and lead a best-in-class finance organization, including systems, processes, and team development
Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
- Define, track, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) tied to growth, profitability, and operational performance
- Lead annual budgeting and long-range strategic planning processes
- Develop and maintain rolling forecasts, including the impact of acquisitions and integrations
- Oversee monthly financial reporting, including variance analysis, reforecasting, and executive-level presentations
- Ensure high-quality financial reporting across multiple operating units or locations
Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A)
- Support due diligence and financial analysis of acquisition targets
- Lead post-acquisition integration efforts, including financial systems, reporting, controls, and processes
- Identify operational efficiencies and synergies across the platform
Financial & Operational Management
- Oversee treasury, cash flow management, insurance, payroll, audit, tax, compliance, and risk management functions
- Manage relationships with external auditors, lenders, tax advisors, and other financial partners
- Lead annual audit and tax processes in coordination with external firms
- Oversee financial infrastructure to support scalability and operational efficiency
Qualifications
- 15+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, including CFO or senior finance roles
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (CPA and/or MBA preferred)
- Proven experience with mergers and acquisitions, including integration execution
- Experience in private equity-backed environments, particularly with acquisitive or roll-up strategies required
- Background in property management, real estate, or multi-location service-based businesses strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards
- Demonstrated expertise in financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial modeling
