Key Responsibilities of Chief Financial Officer:

Lead full financial transformation including close process, reporting, controls, and audit readiness

Stabilize and rebuild billing operations, including oversight of outsourced partners and transition planning back in-house

Oversee grants, contracts, and funding compliance across a large, multi-source environment
-
Optimize ERP systems (NetSuite or similar) and implement tools to improve AP, reporting, and visibility

Build and structure the finance team, delegating effectively to elevate overall performance
Qualifications of Chief Financial Officer:

Proven nonprofit finance leadership experience with exposure to grants, contracts, and government funding

Experience with NetSuite or a comparable ERP and ability to improve systems and reporting
-
Background in restructuring, turnaround environments, and familiarity with healthcare billing cycles (Medicare/Medicaid)
What You’ll Be Focused On (First 12 Months):
Operational Stabilization (40%)

Reduce month-end close from 45–60 days to a timely, reliable cycle

Address backlog across billing, contracts, and reporting

Improve accuracy and visibility of financial data
Billing & Revenue Cycle Rebuild (25%)

Oversee outsourced billing relationship and transition strategy

Rebuild internal billing processes and team structure

Improve understanding and management of the full billing lifecycle
Team Buildout & Leadership (20%)

Assess current team (300+ staff environment) and restructure where needed
-
Put strong leaders in place and delegate effectively
-
Create accountability, clarity, and scalable processes
Systems & Process Improvement (15%)

Optimize NetSuite usage for budgeting, reporting, and transparency
-
Support implementation of new tools (e.g., AP automation)

Partner with program leaders to ensure budget visibility and ownership
