The Role

We're hiring our Founding GTM Engineer — the person who will design, build, and run Specter's outbound engine from scratch. This is not a traditional sales role. You're equal parts strategist, systems builder, and operator. Think of yourself as the CTO of our go-to-market motion.

Specter has 300+ top-tier VC and PE clients and hundreds inbound demo requests per month — all without ever having a dedicated GTM function. Now it's time to layer on a systematic outbound machine, and you'll be the one to architect it.

What You'll Be Doing

Design our outbound infrastructure from zero — email domains, deliverability, sending tools, CRM workflows, the full stack. You'll decide what we use, how it connects, and why.

Build AI-powered prospecting workflows — think Clay tables, enrichment waterfalls, intent signals, lead scoring, and personalized outreach at scale. If you've seen what ColdIQ or Workflows.io do, that's the level we're aiming for — in-house.

Define our ICP and build our target account lists — model who we should be reaching out to, source the data, enrich it, and segment it.

Write and test outreach sequences — email and LinkedIn. You'll own messaging, A/B testing, and iteration based on real data.

Work directly with both founders to shape the GTM strategy. No layers, no committees — just you and us figuring this out together.

Run the outbound motion yourself in the early days — this isn't a "build it and hand it off" role. You'll operate the system you build until we hire someone to help you scale it.

Who You Are

You have 2–4 years of experience in a BDR, growth, or GTM role at a startup. You've built outbound systems before, not just executed someone else's playbook.

You're deeply technical about the modern GTM stack — Clay, Instantly/Smartlead, Apollo, LinkedIn automation, enrichment tools, CRM automation. You don't just use these tools — you connect them into workflows.

You obsess over deliverability, data quality, and personalization at scale. You know the difference between spray-and-pray and precision outbound.

You think in systems, not tasks. When you see a manual process, your instinct is to automate it.

You follow the GTM space closely — people like the teams behind ColdIQ, Workflows.io, or similar communities are your kind of people.

You thrive in ambiguity. There's no playbook here yet. That excites you.

You're not employee #500 filling a seat on a sales floor. You're the first dedicated GTM hire at a profitable, 6-year-old company that's ready to scale. You'll have direct access to the founders, full autonomy to experiment, and the chance to build something from nothing. When Specter's outbound engine is generating millions in pipeline, you'll be the one who built it.
