Our QSPTG legal recruiting department is engaged in a search for a Chief Financial Officer on behalf of a highly reputable law firm. This opportunity is driven by a planned retirement, as the current CFO will step down at the end of the year. The firm is open to onboarding the right candidate in advance to ensure a seamless transition.
Position Overview
The CFO will serve as a key member of the leadership team, overseeing all financial operations of the firm and providing strategic guidance to support continued growth and profitability. This role requires a balance of strategic insight and hands on execution within a professional services environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all financial functions including accounting, reporting, budgeting, and forecasting
- Provide strategic financial guidance to firm leadership and partners
- Oversee financial planning and analysis to support business decisions
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, tax, and reporting requirements
- Manage cash flow, partner distributions, and financial risk
- Develop and mentor the finance team
- Partner with firm leadership to drive operational efficiency and long term growth
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a CFO or senior financial leader, preferably within a law firm or professional services environment
- Strong background in financial management, reporting, and strategic planning
- Experience working with partner compensation models is highly valued
- Demonstrated leadership and team development experience
- Bachelor degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA or MBA strongly preferred
- Experience within a law firm or similar professional services organization
- Track record of advising executive leadership and driving business performance
Compensation
- Base salary in the range of $175-200K, with flexibility for the right candidate
