About National Alzheimer’s Buddies (NAB):
National Alzheimer’s Buddies (NAB) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of individuals affected by Alzheimer’s disease. NAB seeks to alleviate the often-overlooked emotional and social challenges that stem from Alzheimer’s by building friendships between college students and Alzheimer’s residents that bring out the beauty of the person still present.
Position Overview:
The CFO manages NAB’s Finance Committee and leads all initiatives related to raising and managing NAB’s funds. The CFO works most closely with committee members and the Executive Team, which includes the CEO, COO, CMO, and CIO. Please note that this position is volunteer-based.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepares quarterly overview of financial statements such as statements of activities.
- Ensures compliance to federal and state regulations related to financial operations.
- Manages national-level cash flow including monitoring bank account activity and processing reimbursements.
- Develops and manages the national operating budget.
- Leads initiatives in fundraising, grant writing, donor solicitation, and corporate partnership outreach on a national level.
- Plans yearly, monthly, and weekly goals of the Finance Committee and executes goals with Committee members.
- Attends Board and Committee meetings.
- Leads weekly Finance Committee meetings.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Former experience in an Alzheimer’s Buddies chapter, ideally at the level of Co-Director
- Coursework in economics, finance, public health, healthcare administration or business administration
- Has experience in a fundraising or finance-related role, which includes skills such as budgeting and tracking expenses.
- Can communicate efficiently with a variety of team members, including coworkers, nonprofit executives, field experts, and potential donors.
- Has leadership experience and is comfortable delegating and organizing responsibilities with team members.
- Has experience working in a remote team environment and is able to quickly communicate with other Executives, Board, and Committee members, especially through platforms like Slack, Google Meet, and email.
- Responsive to feedback and able to adapt to changes.
Commitment:
Term: July 1, 2026 - June 30, 2027
