Role Summary
This position provides critical ongoing daily support for our growing operations team. As the Senior Sales Specialist, you are the main point of contact between sales and all other internal and external customers by validating pricing, checking the status of orders, and communicating any issues immediately to all stakeholders. You will process a high volume of sales orders, order acknowledgments, and customer invoices. Most importantly, you will provide strategic guidance to the Operations team to streamline sales, order management, and fulfillment workflows, driving efficiency and best practices across the order-to-cash lifecycle.
Responsibilities:
- Process all wholesale orders (EDI) and order confirmations.
- Maintains and updates customer accounts with relevant order information, delivery expectations, or any other specific data.
- Informs sales staff of any issues that arise, such as a delay in shipping, or if customers have specific questions or complaints that the associate is unable to handle.
- Keeps customers and sales teams updated on any changes to order status, such as delivery dates.
- Provides reactive and proactive updates to customers as order status changes.
- Consolidate the sales order for the production team after the market week.
- Provide strategic guidance to the Operations team to streamline sales, order management, and fulfillment workflows.
- Act as the subject-matter expert for sales operations processes, ensuring best practices are consistently applied across teams.
- Oversee wholesale order processes (EDI) at a supervisory and advisory level, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and alignment with operational standards.
- Partner with Operations, Finance, Production, and Logistics teams to align cross-functional workflows and improve end-to-end order execution.
- Consolidate and review sales orders post–market week, ensuring accurate and timely handoff to the Production team.
- Serve as a key escalation point for complex operational or system-related issues impacting sales execution.

Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in sales operations, sales analytics, operations support, or a related role within a wholesale or B2B environment.
- Proven ability to provide guidance and leadership (without direct authority) to Operations and cross-functional teams to streamline workflows and improve execution.
- Strong experience working with ERP systems (NetSuite), EDI (Spring System), and sales/order management platforms
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookup formulas, Power BI) and strong working knowledge of Outlook and other Microsoft Office tools.
- Demonstrated experience creating reports, dashboards, and performance metrics that provide actionable insights for leadership.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales, inventory, and profitability data and translate findings into clear recommendations.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex data, systems, or process changes to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strategic and critical thinker with strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
- Experience supporting process documentation, continuous improvement initiatives, and operational best practices.
