Fractional Chief Financial Officer
Location: Remote (only within the UK)
Salary: £140,000 (pro rata - 3 days per week) + share options
Job Purpose
As Fractional CFO/Finance Director, you’ll partner with the CEO, taking ownership of the company’s financial function, balancing hands-on management of day-to-day finance with strategic oversight. You’ll work closely with the CEO and leadership team to support scaling efforts, drive investor readiness, and ensure the business is financially robust as it grows from Seed to Series A and beyond.
Responsibilities:
- Financial Operations & Oversight: Own the finance function end-to-end, from cashflow and reporting to overseeing outsourced partners.
- Budgeting & Reporting: Be responsible for budgeting & reporting, analysis and KPI tracking
- Board reporting and investor relations: Manage board process, reporting and investor relations
- Fundraising: Support the fundraising process, working closely with the CEO, Chairman and Investors (we are heading towards a Series A)
- Leadership & strategic decision: Play a key role in the leadership team, bringing appropriate level of challenge to ensure sound business and financial planning
Required experience:
- Extensive experience operating as a Fractional CFO or Finance Director within VC-backed B2B SaaS start-ups
- Experience operating at board level, with a solid understanding of working with VC investors and scaling businesses from Seed to Series A
- Experience of supporting CEOs with the end-to-end fundraising processes from financial modelling through to knowing what it takes to close a round
- Experience in creating and managing KPIs and dashboards, using CRMs and other systems
- Be a great team player, enjoy supporting and working collaboratively with leadership teams
- Be level-headed - able to cut through the noise and provide the calm voice of reason through the ups and downs of start-up life
- Be tech savvy, with a keen interest in finding ways to automate and streamline processes and deliver efficiently
