Stanton House is partnering with a private equity-backed technology-enabled consulting and managed services business to appoint a hands-on Interim CFO on an initial 3–6 month FTC (potential to extend or convert to permanent). Reporting directly to the CEO, this engagement will lead the finance function and ensure the business is fully aligned to its ambitious growth strategy, including US expansion and scaling revenue from £14m to £22m over the next 12 months.
The CFO will oversee a newly appointed GFC and three India-based finance staff responsible for booking and finance operations. This role will combine strategic financial leadership with operational oversight, ensuring robust controls, scalable reporting, and commercial insight across project-based consulting and managed service engagements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the finance function, overseeing budgeting, forecasting, reporting, cash flow management, and profitability analysis.
- Provide strategic financial guidance to support growth plans, pricing strategy, investment decisions, and geographic expansion.
- Implement and enhance robust financial controls, scalable reporting frameworks, and KPIs to drive transparency and operational efficiency.
- Own project accounting and resource planning processes to ensure accurate margin tracking and optimal utilisation.
- Review client contracts, commercial terms, and risk exposure to protect and enhance profitability.
- Ensure effective cash flow management across complex, multi-entity, and multi-geography operations.
- Support funding discussions, expansion initiatives, and board-level reporting.
- Partner closely with operational and commercial leaders to embed financial discipline and performance accountability.
- Lead and develop the finance team, creating a high-performance culture across UK and offshore teams.
To be suitable:
- Proven CFO or Finance Director experience within a consulting, professional services, or technology-enabled services environment.
- Strong understanding of project-based revenue models and managed service contracts.
- Demonstrated experience implementing financial controls and scalable reporting frameworks in a growing business.
- Commercially astute with experience advising pricing, margins, and contract risk.
- Experience working within private equity-backed or investor-led environments.
- Hands-on, pragmatic, and comfortable operating at both strategic and operational levels.
- Strong leadership capability with experience managing geographically distributed teams.
- Immediately available or able to start at short notice.
This is an excellent opportunity to play a critical leadership role within a scaling, investor-backed business, helping to professionalise the finance function and position the company for its next stage of growth, on either an interim or a long term permanent basis.
