Interim Chief Financial Officer

A £40m revenue services business, recently acquired by a leading Private Equity fund, is seeking an experienced Interim Chief Financial Officer to support the business through a critical post-deal phase.
Working closely with the CEO, investors, and senior leadership team, the Interim CFO will take ownership of post-deal financial due diligence, stabilisation, and the delivery of a robust 100-day plan. This role will play a key part in establishing financial discipline, enhancing reporting, and setting the foundations for value creation, including a clear focus on cost base reduction and efficiency improvement.
Operating in a fast-paced, PE-backed environment, this role requires a hands-on finance leader with strong technical capability and the ability to quickly assess, prioritise, and execute across multiple workstreams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead post-deal financial due diligence activities, including validation of financial assumptions and identification of risks and opportunities.
- Own and deliver the 100-day plan from a finance perspective, aligning with investor expectations and value creation objectives.
- Identify and execute cost reduction initiatives across the business, improving efficiency and driving sustainable margin enhancement.
- Establish robust financial reporting, forecasting, and KPI frameworks.
- Improve cash flow management, working capital optimisation, and financial controls.
- Partner with the CEO and PE stakeholders to provide strategic financial insight and support decision-making.
- Assess and strengthen the finance function, including team capability, systems, and processes.
- Drive budgeting and reforecasting processes in line with new ownership expectations.
To Be Suitable
- Proven experience as an Interim CFO within Private Equity-backed businesses.
- Strong track record of delivering post-deal value creation, including 100-day planning and execution.
- Demonstrated experience in cost reduction, restructuring, or margin improvement programmes.
- Deep experience in financial due diligence, reporting, and controls improvement.
- Hands-on approach with the ability to operate at both strategic and operational levels.
- Experience within services or similar sectors preferred.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage effectively with investors and boards.
- Immediately available or able to start at short notice.
