ERP/Business Applications Analyst (Microsoft Dynamics 365)

Houston / Southeast Texas (Hybrid – 3 days onsite)
Overview
My client is seeking a Business Applications Analyst to support enterprise ERP and business systems, with a primary focus on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
This role is hands-on and focuses on system support, troubleshooting, and business user engagement across Finance, Procurement, Accounts Payable, and Operations.
You will work closely with a senior systems lead, take ownership of support issues end-to-end, and develop deeper ERP and technical skills over time.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day support for ERP and integrated business applications
- Troubleshoot system issues including posting errors, workflow failures, and data discrepancies
- Partner with business users to understand issues and identify root causes
- Assist with system configuration, user permissions, and functional testing
- Support ERP upgrades, enhancements, and system improvements
- Document processes, workflows, and system behavior
- Write or learn basic SQL queries for troubleshooting and reporting
- Perform initial triage of issues before escalation to senior team members

Required Experience
- 1–3 years supporting ERP or business applications
- (or strong transferable technical/problem-solving experience)
- Understanding of core business processes (Finance, AP, Procurement, Operations)
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting mindset
- Comfortable working directly with business users
- Willingness to learn Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and SQL
Nice to Have
- Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or Dynamics NAV experience
- Experience with ERP systems such as Dynamics GP or similar platforms
- Exposure to procurement or finance tools (e.g., Coupa or similar)
- Basic SQL knowledge
- Exposure to system integrations or APIs
