With a mission to enhance health and well-being, the organization provides compassionate, patient-centered medical care to diverse populations throughout Alameda County. Operating five clinic sites in Berkeley, West Oakland, and East Oakland, it offers comprehensive services, including family medicine, pediatrics, dental care, behavioral health, and pharmacy services. As a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), it serves patients with Medi-Cal, Medicare, other insurance, and those without insurance through state and county partnerships. Baywell Health Community remains a leader in healthcare advocacy and community empowerment.
Role Description
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will lead the financial strategy and operations of the organization to ensure the health and sustainability of Baywell Health Community. Daily responsibilities include overseeing financial planning, preparing and analyzing financial statements, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with financial reporting standards. The CFO will provide strategic recommendations to the executive team, evaluate financial data, and collaborate with key stakeholders to support operational and strategic decisions. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Oakland, CA.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Financial Planning and in-depth understanding of Finance concepts and frameworks
- Expertise in preparing, analyzing, and managing Financial Statements
- Strong Analytical Skills to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights
- Experience in Financial Reporting, including compliance with regulatory requirements
- Experience managing complex budgets in nonprofit or federally qualified health settings preferred
- Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; advanced degree or CPA preferred
- Familiarity with healthcare finance and grant funding is a significant advantage
