POSITION TITLE: Chief Financial Officer
REPORTS TO: Chief Executive Officer
STATUS: Part-Time, Non-Exempt
PAY RANGE: $50-$55/hour
POSITION SUMMARY:
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Chief Financial Officer at B.R. Ryall YMCA serves on the senior leadership team and leads financial strategy and operations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Conducts financial planning and analysis, including variance analysis, forecasting, and budget oversight.
2. Leads the annual budgeting process, developing system models, financial plans, and providing training and support to departmental users.
3. Monitors financial operations, prepares analysis and reports, and provides guidance to executive and operating staff.
4. Reviews, updates, and develops internal control systems; oversees internal audits to ensure compliance with policies and standards.
5. Leads the Board Finance Committee and partners with the CEO, senior leadership team, and program areas to align efforts.
6. Manages investment strategies in coordination with the Investment Committee and Board of Directors.
7. Supervises accounting month-end financial close and financial statement preparation.
8. Develops key performance indicators and measurement systems to track strategic plan objectives.
9. Ensures proper internal controls to safeguard assets, periodically reviewing and updating as needed.
10. Attends staff, committee and board meetings as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or related field; MBA, CPA, or CMA preferred.
2. 7+ years of professional experience in accounting, financial planning, and fiscal management.
3. Knowledge and experience in budget development, financial reporting, forecasting, cash management, business taxes, banking, and debt financing.
4. Strong expertise in financial software, system implementation, and project management.
5. Experience working with many different constituencies or stakeholders ranging from the Board of Directors to budget managers.
6. Experience managing investment portfolios and asset allocation strategies preferred.
7. Previous experience in nonprofit financial management preferred.
8. Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to convey financial concepts clearly.
9. Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects.
10. Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments.
Pay: $50.00 - $55.00 per hour
Work Location: Hybrid remote in Glen Ellyn, IL 60137
