Chief Financial Officer (CFO) – Local South Florida Municipality
A municipality in South Florida is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead its financial operations. The CFO will be responsible for overseeing all fiscal functions, including budget development, financial reporting, audits, investments, and long-term financial planning. This position reports directly to executive leadership and plays a critical role in ensuring the financial integrity and strategic financial direction of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development, management, and oversight of the annual budget.
- Oversee financial reporting, audits, and compliance with applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
- Direct treasury functions, including cash flow management, debt issuance, and investment strategies.
- Manage Finance Department staff and ensure high standards of fiscal accountability and transparency.
- Provide executive-level guidance on fiscal impacts, financial policy and proper budget financial administration of operational and capital projects.
- Collaborate with departments to support strategic initiatives and improve operational efficiency.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Public Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- CPA license or equivalent strongly preferred.
- At least 8–10 years of progressively responsible experience in government finance or public sector budgeting, with 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of municipal finance, fund accounting, and GASB standards.
- Demonstrated leadership, strategic thinking, attention to detail and open communication skills.

Pay: $155,000.00 - $180,000.00 per year
