THE OPPORTUNITY
I'm running a confidential CFO search for a South Florida–based manufacturing company that has quietly become one of the most respected names in the region's construction supply chain.
The business is in a true growth inflection point — three operating facilities, a stacked backlog of architectural and structural metal packages on some of South Florida's most recognizable luxury residential, hospitality, and mixed-use developments, and active conversations on the M&A front that need a sophisticated financial leader at the wheel.
Ownership is looking for a CFO who can do more than close the books. They want a strategic partner — someone who has lived through deal cycles, knows how to professionalize a finance function inside a manufacturing environment, and can help shape what this company looks like over the next five to ten years.
WHAT YOU'LL OWN
- Lead all financial strategy, planning, reporting, and analysis for a multi-facility operation
- Drive M&A activity — sourcing, diligence, deal structuring, integration, and post-close value capture
- Build and lead the finance, accounting, and FP&A functions through the next phase of scale
- Partner directly with the CEO and ownership on capital strategy, banking relationships, and growth investment decisions
- Bring discipline to job costing, margin analysis, and project-level profitability across active fabrication and installation work
- Oversee treasury, risk, insurance, audit, and tax — including bonding and surety relationships critical to construction-adjacent work
- Build the financial infrastructure to support continued facility expansion and acquisition activity
WHAT YOU BRING
- Must-have: Direct M&A experience — buy-side, sell-side, or both. Deals you've actually closed, integrated, or guided through diligence
- Must-have: Fully bilingual in English and Spanish — comfortable conducting business, leading teams, and navigating ownership conversations in both languages
- Strongly preferred: Manufacturing, fabrication, industrial, or construction-services background
- 10+ years of progressive financial leadership, with prior CFO or senior VP of Finance experience at a middle-market company
- Comfort operating in a founder/owner-led environment — collaborative, hands-on, no ivory tower
- Strong command of job-cost accounting, WIP reporting, and project-based margin analysis (or the ability to ramp quickly)
- CPA, MBA, or equivalent credentials a plus — but real-world deal experience matters more
- Someone who can build the function, not just run it
