Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
About the Role
Capital City Fruit is seeking an experienced, hands‑on Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our senior leadership team. This role is responsible for the overall financial health of the company and provides strategic financial guidance to ownership and executive leadership.
In addition to Capital City Fruit, the CFO will provide financial oversight and support to affiliated and portfolio companies, making this a high‑impact role for a strategic, business‑minded finance leader.
Pay range: $165K-$170K + Bi-annual bonus opportunity
What You’ll Do
As CFO, you will lead all finance and accounting operations while helping drive business growth and operational improvement. Key responsibilities include:
- Lead financial strategy, budgeting, forecasting, and long‑ and short‑term planning
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting in accordance with GAAP
- Provide clear, timely financial reports and analysis to leadership and ownership
- Manage cash flow, banking relationships, investments, and treasury functions
- Partner with executive leadership on major business decisions and ROI analysis
- Identify cost‑saving and profit‑improvement opportunities
- Oversee payroll, benefits coordination, and fixed asset accounting
- Work closely with external CPA firm and legal counsel for tax planning and compliance
- Ensure proper insurance coverage and risk management across the organization
- Evaluate company performance relative to industry and competitors
- Support long‑range planning, succession planning, and business continuity efforts
Leadership Responsibilities
- Directly lead the Finance and Accounting team (5 team members)
- Ensure the department is properly staffed, engaged, and aligned with company goals
- Develop team members through clear roles, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Foster a collaborative, high‑performing team culture
What We’re Looking For
Required Qualifications
- CPA required
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- 10+ years of progressive finance/accounting experience
- 5+ years leading and supervising teams
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and business analysis
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA or advanced degree
- Public accounting or audit experience
- Background in distribution, manufacturing, food, agriculture, or related industries
