As Chief Financial Officer, you will serve as the organization’s strategic financial leader, overseeing fiscal operations, compliance, budgeting, reporting, and long-term financial planning. You will partner with executive leadership, the Finance Committee, and the Board to guide financial strategy, manage complex funding streams, and ensure strong stewardship of resources. In this role, you will lead the finance team, strengthen financial systems, and support sustainable mission-driven growth.
Responsibilities
- Partner with executive leadership to drive long-term financial strategy, sustainability, and organizational planning
- Lead financial forecasting, modeling, reporting, and analysis to support strategic decision-making
- Oversee budgeting, cash flow management, and organizational financial performance
- Direct all accounting operations, including monthly close, financial statements, and general ledger integrity
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, nonprofit accounting standards, grant requirements, and all federal, state, and local filings
- Develop and maintain strong financial policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Lead the annual audit process and manage relationships with auditors, banks, and investment partners
- Present financial reports and recommendations to executive leadership, Finance Committee, and Board of Directors
- Supervise and develop accounting staff while providing overall leadership for the finance function
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; CPA designation strongly preferred
- 8+ years of progressive financial leadership and management experience
- 5+ years managing finances within a nonprofit organization
- Strong knowledge of nonprofit accounting practices, GAAP standards, and federal grant compliance requirements
- Proven experience in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic analysis
- Demonstrated ability to present financial data and recommendations to Boards of Directors and Finance Committees
- Expertise in developing internal controls, financial policies, and operational procedures
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Hands-on experience leading and coordinating annual external audits
- Position is primarily office-based, involving extended periods of sitting, typing, phone communication, and general administrative work
- Occasional physical activity may include light lifting, carrying, bending, standing, walking, and filing
- Requires strong mental focus and sustained visual and auditory attention in a fast-paced work environment
- Approximately 30% of responsibilities may take place in the field or at community-based locations outside the office.

- Must possess a valid unrestricted Pennsylvania Driver’s License
- Must possess current and valid unrestricted automobile insurance and be listed as an insured driver

Compensation
- Salary: $100,000 - $120,000
