MUST HAVE: CONSTRUCTION FINANCE EXPERIENCE
PURPOSE/MISSION:
Senior Financial Leader plans and directs all aspects of organizational financial policies. Maintains direct involvement in internal financial functions including accounting, budgeting, credit, banking, tax and job performance. Actively plans to ensure appropriate use of financial resources and serves as advisor to President. Leads the organizational budgeting process.
Manages all accounting operational and reporting functions to ensure accuracy of financial data necessary for accurate accounting of business results. Oversee day-to-day activities for accounts payable, cash disbursements, accounts receivable, invoicing/billing, credits and collections, payroll, fixed asset records, general ledger accounting, and job cost accounting.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Serves as advisor to President to assist with financial planning and decision making
- Oversees all internal fiscal and fiduciary responsibilities for the organization
- Provides expert guidance and recommendations on financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
- Oversees all aspects of internal and external financial reporting and cash management including the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements
- Guides financial decisions and protects assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures and internal controls
- Oversees job costing and prepares project work in progress reports
- Achieves budget objectives by scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions
- Provides status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting, and reporting financial data
- Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
- Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; filing financial reports; advising management on needed actions
- Maintains bank account and manages banking relationship, projects bank draws
- Communicates with contractors/customers regarding billing issues and collection of outstanding accounts
- Manages audit and banking relationships
- Liaise with external auditors and tax professionals to guard against fraud
- Protects operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related discipline
- Accounting designation (CPA) required
- Experience in Financial management role
- Proven track record as CFO, VP of Finance, or equivalent senior financial leadership role
- Demonstrated success in driving financial performance and achieving business objectives
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
- Experience with creating financial statements
- Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $150,000.00 - $170,000.00 per year
