Accounting & Business Operations Associate
Location: Downtown Toronto (Hybrid)
Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Pay: $75,000 – $95,000 annually
Reports to: Director of Accounting & Finance, General Manager

About the Role
We are seeking a business-minded accounting professional who is interested in expanding beyond traditional finance responsibilities. This role combines hands-on accounting and finance responsibilities with involvement in ERP initiatives, including an ongoing SAP transition project. Over time, the role is expected to expand into broader business operations, including technology enablement, AI adoption, process improvement initiatives, market research, and business development support. The ideal candidate is curious, adaptable, and excited to learn and contribute across multiple areas of the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Finance & Accounting Operations*
- Support day-to-day accounting and finance operations, including cash management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and month-end activities
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting processes
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis activities
- Prepare and reconcile financial data and assist with tax filings
- Coordinate banking activities, including high-value outgoing payments, cash management, and foreign exchange transactions
ERP & SAP Project Support*
- Support SAP transition and system enhancement initiatives
- Assist with data migration, integration, testing, and user training activities
- Maintain ERP master data and support reporting and data analysis
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiencies
Local IT Coordination
- Coordinate with internal and external IT support providers regarding user, device, and system-related issues
- Maintain user access records, software licenses, and IT equipment inventory
- Assist with employee onboarding and technology-related administrative tasks
- Support local technology initiatives and end-user training as required
Technology, AI & Business Support (Expected to Grow Over Time)
- Support the adoption of productivity-enhancing technologies, including Microsoft Copilot and other AI tools
- Assist with process improvement and technology enablement initiatives across the organization
- Conduct market, industry, and company research to support business development activities
- Prepare briefing materials, reports, and research summaries for management and business teams
- Participate in industry conferences, networking events, and other business development activities as opportunities arise
- Support cross-functional projects and evolving business initiatives
Required Qualifications
- College diploma or university degree, preferably in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in accounting or finance operations within a corporate environment
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting processes
- Experience supporting month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP
- Understanding of electronic data integration
- Strong analytical, organizational, and documentation skills
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal
- Ability to work effectively in a dynamic and evolving business environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting or participating in ERP implementation, migration, or system enhancement projects
- General IT knowledge and willingness to support day-to-day technology-related activities
- Experience with, or a strong interest in learning, Microsoft Copilot and other AI-powered productivity tools
- Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize information from multiple sources into concise and actionable insights
- Exposure to business development, market research, consulting, or project-based environments
- Japanese language proficiency is a strong asset
