Position Summary
The Group Chief Financial Officer (Group CFO) will serve as a strategic business partner to the Promoters, Board of Directors, and Executive Leadership Team while acting as the custodian of the Company's financial integrity, governance framework, and capital resources. The role will provide leadership across Finance, Accounting, Treasury, Management Reporting, Taxation, Investor-facing financial governance, Regulatory Compliance, and Digital Finance Transformation. The CFO will play a critical role in shaping business strategy, driving performance, strengthening controls, optimizing capital allocation, and enabling sustainable growth across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Finance Leadership
- Partner with the Promoters, Board, and Leadership Team in defining and executing the Company's strategic roadmap.
- Drive long-term value creation through robust financial planning, business analysis, capital allocation, and performance management.
- Provide commercial and financial insights to support strategic decisions, investments, expansion initiatives, mergers & acquisitions, and new business opportunities.
- Evaluate business performance, profitability, return on capital, pricing strategies, and investment decisions.
- Act as a trusted advisor on business risks, opportunities, and market developments.
2. Financial Planning, Budgeting & Performance Management
- Lead the annual business planning and budgeting process and obtain Board approval for the Annual Operating Plan.
- Collaborate with Sales, Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, Project Delivery, Procurement, HR, and other functions to develop integrated business plans.
- Establish financial targets, KPIs, and performance measurement systems.
- Drive periodic reviews of business performance and recommend corrective actions to improve profitability, cash generation, and operational efficiency.
- Develop rolling forecasts and scenario-based planning models.
3. Financial Control, Accounting & Reporting
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Design, implement, and continuously improve accounting policies, internal controls, financial processes, and governance frameworks.
- Ensure timely closure of books and preparation of standalone and consolidated financial statements.
- Drive best-in-class financial controls and reporting processes across the Group.
- Oversee statutory audits, internal audits, and financial due diligence exercises.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with auditors, consultants, and external advisors.
4. Management Reporting & Business Analytics
- Develop and present high-quality management information and business dashboards for the Leadership Team and Board.
- Provide actionable analysis on profitability, working capital, project performance, cash flow, business unit performance, and operational metrics.
- Drive data-based decision making across the organization.
- Establish a culture of financial discipline, transparency, and accountability.
5. Corporate Governance, Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and governance requirements applicable to NSE/BSE-listed companies.
- Oversee compliance under SEBI Regulations, Companies Act, FEMA, Accounting Standards, and other applicable statutory requirements.
- Lead Direct and Indirect Tax compliance, assessments, audits, and litigation management.
- Manage relationships with regulators, consultants, legal advisors, and statutory authorities.
- Strengthen enterprise risk management, internal controls, and compliance frameworks across the organization.
- Support cross-functional compliance initiatives involving HR, Supply Chain, Administration, and Operations.
6. Treasury, Banking & Capital Management
- Lead relationships with banks, financial institutions, investors, and credit agencies.
- Drive treasury operations, cash flow forecasting, liquidity planning, and working capital optimization.
- Ensure adequate funding arrangements to support business growth and operational requirements.
- Optimize capital structure, borrowing costs, banking facilities, and treasury controls.
- Oversee foreign exchange risk management and capital allocation strategies.
7. Digital Finance & Business Transformation
- Lead finance transformation initiatives leveraging technology, automation, and analytics.
- Oversee implementation, optimization, and upgrades of ERP platforms and other digital business systems.
- Drive integration and effectiveness of Finance ERP, Vendor Portals, HRMS, reporting tools, and workflow automation platforms.
- Promote process simplification, digitization, and operational excellence across the enterprise.
8. Leadership & Team Development
- Build and lead a high-performing finance organization capable of supporting the Company's growth ambitions.
- Develop strong succession pipelines and leadership capabilities within the finance function.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, continuous improvement, and ethical conduct.
- Partner effectively with business leaders across functions and geographies.
Educational Qualification
- Chartered Accountant (CA) from a reputed institution.
- Additional qualifications such as MBA, CFA, CPA, or equivalent would be advantageous.
Experience
- 18–25 years of progressive finance leadership experience.
- Minimum 5 years in a CFO, Deputy CFO, Finance Director, or equivalent enterprise leadership role.
- Prior experience with NSE/BSE-listed companies is essential.
- Manufacturing industry experience is mandatory.
- Experience in engineering, industrial products, EPC, projects, infrastructure, environmental services, process industries, or capital equipment sectors will be highly preferred.
