About This Sacred Work
While on the surface, we are building a beautiful modern hot springs resort, underneath we are creating a Water Temple—a place where humans learn to live in harmony with each other, nature, water, and technology such that all life thrives. Our site is modeling a new way of being on Earth, where every operational decision is guided by the question: "How would love do it?"
California Hot Springs sits on 300 acres of sacred land in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains, with pristine chemical-free hot water flowing directly from the earth. We are stewarding this precious resource while building a financially sustainable resort and intentional community that serves as an example of regenerative hospitality.
We are looking for a CFO who can help take us to the next level. This role can be exclusively remote with occasional visits to the location. High preference goes to someone with hospitality experience.

Core Experience
- Raising capital from private investors (individuals, family offices, or small funds) for property acquisitions or development projects — this is called private placement fundraising
- Working with structures like LLCs, LPs (limited partnerships), or REITs where multiple investors pool money into a real estate deal
- Experience with Regulation D (Reg D) offerings — the legal framework most private real estate raises use in the US
- Familiarity with equity vs. debt fundraising (some investors take ownership stakes; others act as lenders)
Practical Skills
- Writing or contributing to Private Placement Memorandums (PPMs) — the legal disclosure documents investors receive
- Building investor decks and financial models that show projected returns, IRR (internal rate of return), cash-on-cash returns, etc.
- Managing an investor pipeline — tracking prospects, follow-ups, commitments, and closing conversations
- Coordinating with attorneys on securities compliance, since raising money from investors is heavily regulated
- Relationship Side
- Existing relationships with accredited investors, family offices, or real estate-focused networks
- Experience presenting at investor meetings or roadshows
- Managing ongoing investor relations — reporting, distributions, updates — after the raise closes
