Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer to lead our finance organization and drive financial strategy for a growing manufacturing company. The CFO will be a strategic partner to the CEO and executive team, responsible for financial planning and analysis (FP&A), accounting, treasury, risk management, compliance, and capital allocation. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical finance skills (CPA preferred) with hands-on manufacturing finance experience to improve profitability, optimize working capital, and support scalable growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic financial leadership and partner with the CEO and executive team to set company strategy, long-range plans, and financial priorities.
- Oversee FP&A functions: lead budgeting, forecasting, scenario modeling, and monthly management reporting to drive informed decision-making.
- Manage accounting, financial reporting, and external audit processes to ensure timely, accurate GAAP financial statements and regulatory compliance.
- Optimize cash flow, working capital, and treasury operations, including banking relationships and capital structure management.
- Develop and execute cost management and margin improvement initiatives, working closely with manufacturing and operations to improve product costing and operational efficiency.
- Lead M&A activity, due diligence, integration planning, and evaluate strategic investment opportunities to support growth.
- Strengthen internal controls, risk management, and compliance programs across finance and operational areas.
- Implement and enhance financial systems and processes (ERP, reporting tools) to scale finance operations and improve data integrity and efficiency.
- Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing finance team; establish clear KPIs, career development plans, and succession planning.
- Communicate financial performance, trends, and key metrics to the board, investors, and stakeholders with clarity and credibility.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) strongly preferred or equivalent professional qualification.
- Minimum 10+ years of progressive finance leadership experience, with at least 5 years in a senior finance role (VP/CFO) in a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated expertise in FP&A, financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting.
- Proven track record in manufacturing finance, including product costing, inventory management, and operational finance partnership.
- Experience with ERP implementations and financial systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and modern reporting tools.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, internal controls, audit processes, and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent strategic thinking, communication, and stakeholder management skills; ability to present complex financial information to non-financial audiences.
- Proven ability to lead and develop teams, drive change, and operate in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
