For our client, we are seeking a Chief Financial Officer to join the team of a leader in the Education, Government & Non-Profit space. This role will lead operational priorities where safety, quality, compliance, and execution discipline are central to success. You will collaborate with field leadership, support functions, and cross-functional stakeholders to improve accountability, service delivery, and operational consistency. The position offers the opportunity to influence operational scale, customer outcomes, and organizational performance within a mission-driven environment.
Location: Arlington, VA - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available
Compensation: $500,000 – $615,000 annually
Responsibilities
- Lead strategic planning to enhance financial performance and alignment with organizational goals
- Guide the finance department to optimize performance across the enterprise
- Drive technological innovation within a highly regulated service environment
- Ensure integrity and compliance in financial functions and internal controls
- Oversee Strategic Sourcing and Procurement operations for NRECA
- Implement a data-driven budgeting process to facilitate organizational decision-making
- Manage cash and treasury functions along with coordinating building leasing to minimize risks
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Master's degree preferred
- 10+ years in senior finance management roles; experience in nonprofit or government contracting is a plus
- Strong background in accounting and financial planning & analysis (FP&A)
- Prior public accounting experience is desired; experience with ERISA is a bonus
- Experience leading scalable finance teams in complex organizations
