Eton Bridge Partners have been retained on a confidential search to appoint a Group CFO for a private equity-backed group building a portfolio of specialist technical services businesses, each underpinned by long-term, contract-based revenue.
Reporting to the CEO, this is a senior finance leadership role at the heart of an ambitious acquisition-led growth strategy. Each business retains its own leadership, culture and finance function, and the CFO's focus is on governance, capital discipline and strategic support across the portfolio, rather than centralisation or integration. The successful candidate will work closely with the CEO, Board and investors to shape acquisition activity and capital allocation, while acting as a trusted adviser to the Managing Directors and Finance Directors of each business.
Please note that we are only considering candidates with proven CFO experience within Private Equity backed businesses.
The Role
- Acting as a trusted adviser and mentor to the Managing Directors and Finance Directors across the portfolio, building a high-performing finance leadership community.
- Leading acquisition execution from target assessment through to completion, supporting a pipeline of further acquisitions.
- Establishing reporting, governance and capital allocation frameworks that provide Group-level transparency while preserving the autonomy of each operating business.
- Maintaining a relentless focus on exit readiness, ensuring the Group retains flexibility to be realised as a whole, in sub-groups, or through individual disposals.
- Sitting on the Executive Team and playing a central role in shaping the wider value creation plan.
The Ideal Candidate
- Proven CFO or Divisional CFO experience within a private equity-backed, acquisitive environment.
- A strong track record of value creation across multiple operating companies or business units, without reliance on centralisation or operational integration.
- Experience in businesses underpinned by long-term contracts, framework agreements or recurring, secured revenue streams.
- Hands-on experience of acquisition execution and post-deal support.
- Experience supporting a successful PE exit, sale process or refinancing event.
- A track record of developing senior finance leaders and building high-performing finance functions.
- A commercially minded, low-ego style: someone who thinks and behaves like an owner, and is motivated by building equity value alongside the CEO and investors.
