Plant Manager (Director – Site & Business Operations)

Help build one of Europe's next-generation hydrogen facilities from the ground up.
A unique opportunity has arisen for an experienced Plant Manager or Operations Leader to take ownership of a brand-new green hydrogen production facility in Germany.
This isn't simply an operations role.
You'll join during the final construction and commissioning phase before taking responsibility for the safe, reliable and commercial operation of the entire plant. As the business grows, you'll play a key role in building the operational organisation, developing procedures, recruiting your team and helping shape the future of a rapidly expanding European hydrogen business.
You'll be responsible for:
- Leading site commissioning through to commercial operation
- Building and leading a high-performing operations team
- Creating operational procedures, safety systems and performance KPIs
- Driving world-class process safety and operational excellence
- Managing contractors and specialist service providers
- Delivering outstanding plant availability, reliability and compliance
- Acting as the senior operational representative with the client
- Holding full P&L accountability for the project and, in time, the portfolio
We're looking for someone who has:
- Significant Plant Manager, Production Manager or Operations Manager experience
- A strong technical background within high-hazard process industries
- Experience of commissioning and/or operating large industrial process plants
- Excellent leadership and people development skills
- Strong understanding of process safety and risk management
- Fluent German is required
Industry experience could include:
Green Hydrogen (strongly preferred)
Hydrogen production
Industrial gases
LNG
Gas processing
Petrochemicals
Chemicals
Refining
Power generation
Experience in hydrogen is highly desirable, but we are equally interested in outstanding operational leaders from other high-hazard process industries who are keen to move into the hydrogen sector.
