We are a private equity-owned manufacturer of specialty coating and laminated solutions serving diverse industrial, packaging, transportation, and consumer end markets. With ~$100 million in annual revenue, multiple production assets, and a reputation for quality, innovation, and customer responsiveness, we are seeking an experienced and strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our executive leadership team in Louisville, Kentucky.
Position Summary
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer and the Private Equity Sponsor, the CFO will serve as a key business partner and member of the executive leadership team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall financial leadership of the company, including financial planning and analysis, accounting, treasury, banking relationships, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, risk management, operational finance, information technology oversight, and strategic growth initiatives.
The CFO will help drive profitability, support operational excellence, improve decision-making through data and analytics, and ensure the organization is positioned for long-term growth and value creation.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic financial leadership to support the company's growth and profitability objectives.
- Lead all accounting, finance, treasury, tax, audit, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting functions.
- Develop and execute annual operating plans, monthly forecasts, and long-range financial strategies.
- Partner with manufacturing and operations leaders to improve margins, productivity, working capital, and asset utilization.
- Establish and maintain financial controls, policies, and compliance procedures to safeguard company assets.
- Deliver timely and accurate financial reporting, KPI dashboards, and business performance analyses to executive leadership.
- Manage banking relationships, debt facilities, cash flow forecasting, and liquidity planning.
- Lead pricing, cost accounting, inventory management, and profitability analysis initiatives.
- Support strategic investments, capital expenditure planning, acquisitions, integrations, and other growth initiatives.
- Oversee risk management, insurance programs, and regulatory compliance.
- Evaluate and enhance ERP systems, financial processes, and reporting capabilities.
- Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance and accounting team.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO, ownership, and Board of Directors.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA and/or MBA strongly preferred.
- Previous financial leadership experience in a private equity-backed environment required.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive financial leadership experience, including senior finance roles within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience as a CFO, VP Finance, or Divisional Finance Leader in a manufacturing company ranging from approximately $50 million to $500 million in revenue.
- Strong understanding of cost accounting, inventory management, plant operations, and manufacturing performance metrics.
- Demonstrated experience in budgeting, forecasting, strategic planning, cash flow management, and operational finance.
- Experience leading banking relationships, debt management, and capital investment analysis.
- Proven ability to influence cross-functional leaders and drive organizational performance.
- Experience with ERP systems and business intelligence tools.
- Outstanding leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
- Ability to operate both strategically and tactically in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.

- Specialty materials, coatings, laminates, converting, packaging, chemicals, films, engineered products, or related process manufacturing industries.
