Chief Financial Officer (Perth WA) | Global Resources Group
About the Role
We are partnering with a large gloChief Financial Officer bal state-owned resources conglomerate with a long-standing iron ore investment footprint across Western Australia. The group holds multiple mining joint ventures and local asset portfolios in Perth, building a stable and continuous local operation team.
This standalone Perth-based CFO role is a core local finance leadership position for the group’s Australian business. Reporting to the local General Manager and providing regular financial governance & management reporting to the global headquarters, you will oversee the full financial function across local entity operations and cross-border joint venture mining projects. This is a local Perth permanent role, no expatriate rotation, exclusively for candidates with Australian local working rights.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end financial management for the Australian entity, including statutory financial reporting, management accounting, annual budgeting & forecasting, cash and treasury management, and financial risk control
- Own Australian local compliance matters, covering Australian tax filing, external audit coordination, regulatory disclosure, and corporate governance in line with IFRS and local mining industry requirements
- Drive financial governance for iron ore joint venture projects, including JV financial reconciliation, capex financial review, project investment evaluation, and regular financial communication with joint venture partners
- Establish and optimize local financial internal control systems, align local operational standards with global group financial policies, and deliver accurate, standardized group management reports
- Lead the local finance team, oversee daily financial operations, and support business development, asset management and ESG financial dimension work
- Effectively balance local Australian regulatory compliance and global parent group’s standardized management requirements
Essential Requirements (Must Have)
- Proven end-to-end CFO working experience at ASX small-cap mining listed companies (critical requirement), with full experience in statutory disclosure, annual audit, financial closing and listed entity governance
- Hold Australian professional accounting qualification: CPA Australia / CAANZ
- In-depth knowledge of Australian tax law, IFRS accounting standards, and Western Australian mining industry financial & cost management models
- Familiar with joint venture financial governance and cross-team financial communication in mining investment projects
- Currently Perth-based with valid Australian permanent working rights (Citizen / PR)
- Native or fluent professional English business proficiency
Desirable Criteria (Nice to Have)
- Bilingual capability (English & Mandarin) to support efficient communication with global headquarters
- Previous working experience with Chinese-invested resources enterprises or Sino-Australian mining joint venture platforms
- Familiar with centralized treasury management and group-style internal control & audit management systems
