VP Accounting/Finance or CFO

This position will be esponsible for financial planning/forecasting, strategic decision-making, along with managing financial risks and cash flow. Will create and oversee budgets, generate financial reports, and analyze data to provide insights for growth strategies. They also handle capital raising, investor relations, and ensuring regulatory compliance. This role works closely with the executive leadership team in strategizing company growth, financial management and planning as well as in strategic forecasting.
Key responsibilities
Financial planning and strategy:
- Creating annual operating and capital budgets.
- Developing long-term financial forecasting & planning (FP&A)
- Participates in formulating and administering company financial policies and developing long range goals and objectives
Cash flow and treasury management:
- Managing cash flow via AR and AP optimization.
- Meet with leadership and banks regarding financial stability, needs, and growth.
- Ensure day-to-day accounting and financial reporting are in order and in compliance with GAAP and corporate policies
- Securing funding and managing relationships with lenders and investors.
- Financial reporting, Analysis and Staff Management
- Mentor and lead Finance team, fostering high performance
- Producing and interpreting key financial statements like income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Establishing and monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
- Benchmarking the business against industry standards.
- Risk management:
- Identifying and mitigating financial, market, legal, and operational risks.
- Ensuring the company is compliant with national and local financial regulations.
- Straistegic partnership:
- Acting as a key strategic partner to the CEO and the executive team.
- Advising on major decisions like mergers, acquisitions, and expansion.
Qualifications:
- Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Accounting, Finance or MA in a related field.
- CPA is a Major plus
- 15+ years of progressive experience in financial management, forecasting, accounting, treasury, or related areas.
- Proven track record of managing finance operations
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, treasury management, and ERP systems
- Advance user of Excel
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
- Experience in process improvement, risk mitigation, and strategic financial planning.

- Accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting.
- Improved cash flow, working capital efficiency, and treasury operations.
- Reduction in month-end close timelines and operational inefficiencies.
- High-performing and motivated finance team with low turnover.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Manage current total of 9 employees in the Finance Department.
- Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems within the finance department.
