Job Summary
The Sales Operations Analyst, Commercial Systems & Enablement will support the commercial organization by building, maintaining, and improving the systems, dashboards, data processes, and sales enablement tools needed to support a growing medical device sales organization.
This role is ideal for someone with hands-on medical device sales operations experience who is comfortable working in Salesforce, building dashboards, analyzing sales performance, supporting forecasting, maintaining territory alignments, and turning complex data into clear, actionable insights for sales leadership.
The role will partner closely with Sales, Therapy Development, Marketing, Finance, IT, and Commercial Operations to improve data quality, streamline reporting, support field execution, and enable more effective decision-making.
This is a hands-on analyst role for someone who enjoys building practical solutions, improving processes, and helping field and leadership teams get the information they need quickly, accurately, and consistently.
Key Responsibilities
Salesforce, CRM & Systems Support
- Support day-to-day Salesforce operations, including data maintenance, reporting support, field updates, user support, and issue resolution.
- Partner with internal stakeholders and external support resources to improve Salesforce usability, data quality, and reporting accuracy.
- Help configure and maintain Salesforce reports, dashboards, fields, workflows, and process improvements in partnership with Sales Operations and IT.
- Support data consistency across Salesforce, ERP, forecasting, BI, and other commercial systems.
- Identify opportunities to reduce manual work through automation, improved workflows, AI, and better system design.
- Support user adoption by documenting processes, creating quick-reference materials, and helping train sales and commercial users.
Reporting, Dashboards & Analytics
- Design, build, and maintain dashboards and reports that provide visibility into sales performance, pipeline health, account activity, quota attainment, case volume, therapy development activity, and territory performance.
- Use tools such as Salesforce, Salesforce Analytics / CRM Analytics, Tableau, Tableau Next, Power BI, Excel, and other reporting platforms to deliver timely and accurate insights.
- Translate business questions into clear reporting requirements, data views, dashboards, and performance summaries.
- Support recurring business reviews, QBRs, sales meetings, leadership updates, and executive reporting with accurate and well-organized data.
- Develop self-service reporting tools that reduce one-off data requests and improve visibility for sales leadership and field teams.
- Use AI-enabled tools, where appropriate, to improve reporting speed, identify trends, summarize insights, and support scalable analytics.
Forecasting & Commercial Planning
- Support forecasting processes by maintaining clean pipeline data, preparing forecast reporting, identifying gaps, and helping leadership understand trends.
- Assist with sales planning activities, including territory alignment, account assignments, quota modeling support, field coverage analysis, and expansion planning.
- Analyze sales performance, procedure volume, account activity, and pipeline trends to support commercial decisions.
- Help identify opportunities and risks by analyzing sales activity, territory performance, customer trends, and data quality.
- Partner with Finance and Commercial Operations to help reconcile sales, bookings, revenue, and performance reporting where applicable.
Territory Alignment & Field Support
- Maintain accurate territory alignments, account ownership, region and zone mapping, and related documentation.
- Support territory planning processes, including proposed changes, approvals, documentation, and implementation in Salesforce and related systems.
- Help ensure field teams have access to accurate account, territory, dashboard, and performance information.
- Partner with sales leadership to troubleshoot reporting issues, answer data questions, and improve visibility into field execution.
- Support sales enablement needs by creating tools, reports, dashboards, and materials that help the field operate more effectively.
Process Improvement & Data Governance
- Document key sales operations processes and identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, and improve workflows.
- Support data governance practices to improve accuracy, consistency, ownership, and usability of commercial data.
- Help define and maintain reporting standards, dashboard definitions, and key performance metric logic.
- Identify recurring manual processes and recommend ways to automate or streamline them.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Therapy Development, Finance, IT, Customer Experience, and Commercial Operations to align reporting and process requirements.
Sales Enablement & Content Support
- Support the development of data-driven materials for sales meetings, leadership reviews, QBRs, business updates, and field communications.
- Create clear, visually organized summaries that help sales leaders and field teams understand performance, priorities, and opportunities.
- Maintain accurate and current reporting content, dashboards, and enablement materials aligned to commercial goals.
- Provide training and support to improve adoption of dashboards, reports, Salesforce processes, and other sales operations tools.
Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in Business, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 3 to 5+ years of experience in Sales Operations, Revenue Operations, Commercial Operations, Sales Analytics, Business Analytics, or Sales Enablement.
- Experience in the medical device, healthcare, life sciences, or another regulated commercial environment strongly preferred.
- Strong Salesforce experience, including reports, dashboards, data maintenance, user support, and process improvement.
- Experience building dashboards or reports in Power BI, Tableau, Salesforce Analytics / CRM Analytics, Tableau Next, Excel, or similar BI tools.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales, pipeline, account, forecast, and territory data.
- Advanced Excel skills, including formulas, pivots, lookups, data validation, and structured data analysis.
- Experience supporting forecasting, territory alignment, quota planning, sales performance reporting, or commercial planning processes.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
- Ability to communicate insights clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, growing commercial organization.
- Experience supporting field sales teams in a medical device or healthcare environment.
- Salesforce Administrator certification or equivalent hands-on Salesforce experience.
- Experience with SQL, data modeling, data integration, or automation tools.
- Experience with ERP or finance system data, such as NetSuite or similar platforms.
- Experience using AI tools to improve analytics, reporting, workflow automation, documentation, or business insights.
- Experience supporting sales enablement, onboarding, field training, or commercial communications.
- Familiarity with territory management, account hierarchy, customer segmentation, sales compensation data, or quota modeling.
- Experience partnering with Finance, IT, Marketing, Therapy Development, and Sales leadership.
Salary Range: $93,000 - $109,000 (Annual Base Salary)
Compensation for this role is determined using market-based geographic pay ranges. The salary range offered to the selected candidate may vary based on their primary work location, relevant experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors.
The successful candidate's starting base pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location and market conditions. The expected base pay range for this role may be modified based on market conditions.
