Role Description: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
The CFO will oversee the company's overall financial operations and financial strategy, working closely with the CEO and Operations leadership to support long-term financial planning and company growth.
Core Responsibilities Include
Financial Management
- Oversee the company's overall financial operations and financial strategy.
- Prepare and monitor annual budgets and financial forecasts.
- Monitor cash flow, revenue, expenses, and profitability.
- Provide financial reports and recommendations to senior leadership.
- Track financial performance by client/account.
Accounting & Reporting
- Oversee bookkeeping, accounting, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
- Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Maintain proper financial records and internal controls.
- Coordinate with outside accountants and tax professionals.
- Ensure compliance with applicable tax and financial reporting requirements.
Payroll & Labor Costs
- Oversee payroll processing and payroll-related expenses.
- Monitor overtime, overtime trends, and labor costs.
- Review payroll against schedules and client billing.
- Ensure payroll expenses are properly allocated to the appropriate accounts.
- Analyze labor costs to help maintain account profitability.
Client Billing & Revenue
- Oversee client invoicing and collections.
- Ensure billing accurately reflects contracted rates, hours, overtime, special events, and additional services.
- Monitor outstanding invoices and follow up on overdue accounts.
- Review contracts and pricing from a financial perspective.
- Identify billing discrepancies and revenue leakage.
Account Profitability
- Analyze profitability for each security account.
- Compare revenue against guard wages, payroll taxes, workers' compensation, insurance, equipment, and other operating costs.
- Identify accounts with declining margins and provide recommendations.
- Assist leadership in determining appropriate pricing for new contracts and renewals.
Risk & Compliance
- Oversee financial controls and identify potential financial risks.
- Work with insurance providers and advisors regarding financial requirements.
- Monitor workers' compensation and other insurance-related expenses.
- Assist with audits and regulatory financial requirements.
- Help prevent fraud, payroll errors, and financial discrepancies.
Strategic Support
- Work closely with the CEO and Operations leadership on financial decisions.
- Provide financial analysis for expansion, new contracts, equipment purchases, and major expenses.
- Establish financial KPIs and regularly report results to leadership.
- Recommend cost-saving opportunities without negatively affecting service quality.
- Support long-term financial planning and company growth.
Mandatory Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 15+ years of experience in accounting, finance, or financial management.
- Experience managing payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial controls.
- Strong Excel and accounting software experience.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to analyze labor costs, client profitability, and company financial performance.
- Must be local to the Los Angeles area.
- Must agree to a background check.
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA, Master's in Finance, or Accounting preferred.
- CPA certification preferred.
- Experience with a security company is preferred.
- Experience in the security, staffing, or other labor-intensive industry strongly preferred.
Pay is based on Experience, Tenure and Performance.
Ranges from
$110,000 – $150,000
Must be Located near Studio City and Local to Los Angeles
