About the Opportunity
My client, one of the most well-capitalized growth-stage companies preparing for a public listing, is looking to hire a CFO. This is a rare ground-floor opportunity to build the finance function ahead of going public. The right person will help shape the strategic direction of the business, not just manage it.
Responsibilities
Lead the full finance function, including accounting, FP&A, treasury, and capital strategy, while building the systems and controls needed to operate as a public company. Partner directly with the CEO and board to guide financial strategy, investor readiness, and long-term growth planning.
Build out the finance team from the ground up, establishing processes that can scale alongside a fast-growing business. Own the transition toward public company reporting, including SPAC transaction support, audit readiness, and SEC compliance groundwork.
Must-Have Skills
- Experience serving as CFO or a senior finance executive at a high-growth company. Direct experience preparing a company for public markets, whether through an IPO, SPAC merger, or similar transaction.
- Strong background in GAAP accounting, financial reporting, and building audit-ready books. Comfortable operating in a fast-moving, founder-led environment with a lean team.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Background in energy, logistics, defense, manufacturing, or other capital-intensive, heavily regulated industries.
- Experience with M&A, capital raises, or investor relations.
- CPA or equivalent credential.
