Connect Search is conducting a confidential search for a Chief Financial Officer on behalf of a fast-growing, multi-site outpatient healthcare platform headquartered in Chicago's western suburbs. The company recently received a growth investment from a private capital firm and is entering its next phase of growth.
The Opportunity
This is a hands-on, builder role for an experienced finance leader who will serve as a strategic and operational partner to the CEO and COO. You will own forecasting, reporting, and cash management across a rapidly growing, multi-location healthcare platform, while modernizing financial systems, evaluating expansion opportunities, and mentoring a small but growing finance team.
What You'll Do
- Partner directly with the CEO and COO to build financial and operational roadmaps in support of strategic objectives
- Lead development of a forecast model across all locations, accounting for headcount, physical capacity, and staffing by treatment modality
- Build weekly departmental reporting templates that track performance against forecast
- Maintain rolling thirteen-week cash flow projections
- Manage monthly financial statements and board reporting, building audit-readiness into financial processes
- Oversee and mentor two financial staff members
- Assist in tax preparation and coordination with external tax advisors
- Oversee Revenue Cycle Management, including billing, denials management, fee schedules, payor contract negotiations, and collections
- Oversee IT partners on BI technology and system implementations tied to financial reporting and KPIs
- Evaluate new contracts and renewals for financial implications and assist in negotiations
- Perform market research to evaluate expansion opportunities by facility or service line
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or MBA preferred
- 8+ years of progressively responsible financial roles, with required experience in healthcare
- Strong Controllers and VPs of Finance ready for their next step are encouraged to apply
- Strong business partnership experience and the ability to work cross functionally
- Proficiency with BI tools, AI, CRM software, and large-scale system implementations
- A problem solver who is willing to roll up their sleeves and build
