Overview
We are seeking an accomplished Interim Group CFO to support a leading advanced manufacturing organisation through a critical period of growth, operational improvement, and strategic
execution. Reporting to the COO, this six-month assignment will provide financial leadership across a complex multi-site business, driving performance, strengthening controls, optimising cash flow, and supporting key strategic initiatives.
The successful candidate will work closely with the COO, Board, and senior leadership team to enhance operational and financial performance, delivering actionable insight and ensuring robust financial governance across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic & Commercial Leadership
- Partner with the COO and Board to deliver strategic objectives and business performance improvements.
- Provide commercial insight, financial analysis, and constructive challenge to support executive decision-making.
- Lead strategic planning, investment appraisal, and financial modelling activities.
Financial Performance & Control
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and planning.
- Strengthen financial controls, governance, compliance, and risk management frameworks.
- Drive performance management across business units and manufacturing sites.
- Oversee working capital, cash flow, and liquidity management.
Manufacturing & Operational Finance
- Lead initiatives to improve manufacturing efficiency, cost control, inventory management, and profitability.
- Develop KPI reporting and performance visibility across operations.
- Partner with Operations, Supply Chain, Procurement, and Commercial teams to deliver sustainable margin improvement.
- Review and optimise costing methodologies and management reporting.
Cash, Funding & Stakeholder Management
- Enhance cash generation and working capital performance.
- Support relationships with lenders, investors, auditors, and external advisors.
- Present financial performance and recommendations to executive and board-level stakeholders.
Leadership & Transformation
- Lead and develop the Group Finance function.
- Assess organisational capability and implement improvements where required.
- Support business transformation, ERP implementation, systems upgrades, and process improvement initiatives.
- Deliver rapid assessment and execution of financial and operational improvement opportunities.
Candidate Profile
Experience & Qualifications
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
- Proven experience as a Group CFO within a multi-site manufacturing or industrial business (£200m+ turnover preferred).
- Strong track record of driving operational and financial improvement in complex environments.
- Deep understanding of manufacturing finance, supply chain economics, and working capital management.
- Experience within private equity-backed, listed, or shareholder-led organisations.
- Available immediately or at short notice.
- Demonstrated ability to operate effectively at Board and executive leadership level.
