Role Description The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a full-time, on-site leadership role based in Rochester, NY, responsible for overseeing all financial operations and guiding the company’s financial strategy. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing financial planning and budgeting processes, supervising the preparation and analysis of financial statements, and ensuring timely, accurate financial reporting. The CFO will oversee cash flow, capital allocation, and risk management, while working closely with the executive team on strategic initiatives, fundraising, and investment decisions. Additional duties include maintaining strong internal controls, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations, leading financial systems and process improvements, and providing clear, data-driven insights to support business growth and performance.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated expertise in core finance functions, including Finance and Financial Planning, with a track record of supporting strategic business decisions.
- Proficiency in preparing, analyzing, and interpreting Financial Statements and Financial Reporting in accordance with applicable standards.
- Strong Analytical Skills, with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable recommendations for senior leadership.
- Extensive experience in corporate finance leadership roles, preferably as a CFO or senior finance executive in technology or growth-oriented companies.
- Advanced knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and capital structure optimization.
- Experience with compliance, audit processes, and internal control frameworks, including familiarity with international and local regulatory requirements.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; an MBA, CPA, or equivalent professional qualification is strongly preferred.
- Proven leadership capabilities, including mentoring finance team members and driving process improvement and system implementation.
