Forward Leading IPA (FLIPA) is seeking an experienced and visionary Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our Executive Leadership Team. This is a unique opportunity for a strategic finance leader who wants more than a traditional corporate finance role
At FLIPA, you will serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO and help guide a mission-driven organization dedicated to improving healthcare access and outcomes for underserved communities throughout Upstate New York. FLIPA is a nonprofit independent practice association that partners with Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs), behavioral health providers, community-based organizations, and public health agencies to advance integrated care and health equity.

The Opportunity
As CFO, you will provide strategic leadership and oversight for all financial operations, including:
- Financial planning and analysis
- Budgeting and forecasting
- Accounting and internal controls
- Grant financial management
- Revenue cycle and reimbursement oversight
- Contracting and value-based payment arrangements
- Investment and cash management
- Audit and regulatory compliance
- Enterprise risk management
You will play a critical role in ensuring FLIPA's long-term financial sustainability while supporting organizational growth, innovation, and operational excellence.
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate will bring:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related field
- 10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience
- 5+ years in a senior leadership role overseeing finance and accounting functions
- Experience working with nonprofit organizations and grant funding
- Experience presenting to and partnering with Boards of Directors
- Strong financial strategy, forecasting, and analytical skills
- Healthcare finance experience strongly preferred
- CPA, MBA, MHA, or related advanced degree preferred
- Experience with IPAs, FQHCs, ACOs, Medicaid, value-based care, or healthcare reimbursement required
