The VP, Chief Revenue Officer, provides centralized management for all Clinical Enterprise revenue cycle functions across Geisinger. This executive will direct, manage, and implement programs to ensure efficient revenue management operations and sufficient cash flow to support Geisinger operations and strategic initiatives. The role is responsible for identifying, analyzing, reducing, and resolving revenue management issues associated with hospital and professional accounts receivable.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Manage all hospital and professional revenue cycle functions, including patient access, coding, charge entry, hospital billing, professional billing, accounts receivable resolution and reconciliation, administrative services, revenue integrity and optimization, compliance, and physician credentialing.
- Manage Utilization Management, including utilization reviews, clinical documentation improvement, and compliance.
- Ensure cost effectiveness and organizational efficiency across revenue cycle operations.
- Provide strategic direction for revenue cycle functions and their integration with Senior Management, Human Resources, Information Systems, Corporate Finance, Managed Care Contracting, Process Improvement, Customer Service, physician staff, and other areas.
- Communicate departmental performance to senior management and Clinical Enterprise leadership, including cash flow, organizational profitability, customer service, accounts receivable results, and revenue enhancement activities.
- Partner with clinical, finance, and technology teams to coordinate activities supporting Geisinger, the Clinical Enterprise, and revenue cycle needs.
- Develop, implement, and direct quality initiatives to continuously monitor and improve revenue cycle processes.
- Manage fiscally responsible departmental operating and capital budgets within established limits and performance targets.
- Lead the identification and implementation of revenue management technology innovations across Geisinger, including artificial intelligence and other automation.
- Establish new and innovative programs for revenue cycle associates and communicate ongoing improvements in process improvement and employee development.
- Participate, as required, in the development of revenue cycle and strategic plans.
- Assess and develop new business and for-profit business opportunities.
ROLE DETAILS:
- The VP, Chief Revenue Officer, reports directly to the EVP, Chief Financial Officer
- Scope: Centralized leadership for all Clinical Enterprise revenue cycle functions, including hospital and professional revenue cycle and Utilization Management.
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years of healthcare experience
- Minimum of 10 years of leadership experience
