About the role
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced finance professional to join the executive leadership team at Dee Why RSL Club as the Chief Financial Officer. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the finance function. The Club operates in a broad range of core club and diversified areas with key strategic projects in the pipeline.
What you’ll be responsible for
- Overseeing the finance team to ensure accurate and timely preparation of informative financial results. These incorporate both core club activities as well as accounting for significant diversified interests. These include a 76 apartment retirement village, car wash, Zone bowling, childcare centre, 7 Eleven service station and property portfolio.
- Managing the retirement village and apartment sales from an accounting, legal and compliance aspect.
- Cost management, reporting and capitalisation of development projects.
- Cashflow management including both short and long term.
- Manage banking arrangements and project financing where required.
- Compilation of budgets and long term strategic forecasts.
- Overseeing the Club payroll and related statutory obligations.
- Managing and completing the Executive payroll and all related statutory obligations.
- Ensuring appropriate insurance is in place.
- Compilation and completion of company taxation.
- Compilation and completion of the annual Fringe benefits tax return.
- Preparation of Statutory Accounts.
- Preparation of statutory submissions including Club Grants data.
- Production of financial reports and analysis to the Executive team, CEO and Board on financial performance, strategies and optimum asset utilisation.
- Operational contract management and review.
- Managing any commercial disputes should they arise.
- Cost effectively managing all legal work.
- ESG reporting & compliance in conjunction with the ESG Manager.
- Providing strong leadership to maintain high operational and audit standards, drive outstanding performance, coach and mentor team members, foster a positive and inclusive culture, and ensure effective communication.
- Approaching everything you do in a professional, positive, and pro-active manner.
What we're looking for
- CPA or CA qualified professional.
- Extensive experience in finance.
- Experience of clubs and / or retirement villages is preferred but not essential.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, report writing, and time management skills.
- Strong work ethic.
- Someone who’s passionate about delivering exceptional financial and non financial results for the benefit of the club and local community.
