Role Description The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a full-time remote role responsible for overseeing RootCause’s financial strategy, planning, and operations. The CFO will lead budgeting and forecasting, manage cash flow, and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting and financial statements. This role includes developing and maintaining financial policies, controls, and compliance processes, while partnering with leadership on strategic initiatives and investment decisions. The CFO will provide analytical insights to support product and growth decisions, monitor key financial and operational metrics, and present regular updates to the executive team and stakeholders. The role also involves optimizing financial performance, supporting pricing and commercial negotiations, and contributing to long-term sustainability and scalability.
Qualifications
- Strong finance and financial planning skills, including experience with budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial management.
- Proficiency in preparing, analyzing, and interpreting financial statements and financial reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
- Advanced analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable financial and business insights.
- Experience in a leadership role within finance, preferably in consulting, technology, or product-driven organizations.
- Knowledge of European financial regulations, compliance standards, and best practices in financial controls.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a remote, distributed environment and collaborate across functions and geographies.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence senior leadership and investors.
- Relevant university degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CFA) are an advantage.
