Role Description
We are looking for a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead Carbelim’s finance function and work closely with the founders and leadership team as the company scales from product development to commercial deployment.
This is a hands-on leadership role covering financial strategy, cash-flow management, fundraising, investor readiness, commercial finance, governance, compliance and financial systems.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead annual budgeting, rolling forecasts, financial planning and scenario modelling.
• Manage cash flow, runway, burn rate, working capital, collections and banking relationships.
• Lead financial preparation for equity, debt and grant fundraising.
• Develop financial models, valuation scenarios, investor materials and funding-use plans.
• Support investor due diligence and maintain financial data rooms.
• Oversee monthly, quarterly and annual financial closing and management reporting.
• Develop product, project and customer profitability models.
• Analyse BOM costs, manufacturing overheads, inventory and project margins.
• Review pricing, quotations, payment milestones, credit terms and contract economics.
• Strengthen financial controls, procurement and payment processes.
• Coordinate tax, audit, corporate and financial compliance requirements.
• Manage grant budgets, utilisation reporting and international/cross-border financial matters.
• Build and develop the finance function and implement scalable accounting, reporting and ERP processes.
Candidate Profile
• Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification is required.
• MBA in Finance or additional relevant qualification is an advantage.
• 12–18 years of progressive finance experience.
• 3–5+ years of experience leading a finance function as CFO, Finance Head, Financial Controller or equivalent.
• Demonstrated experience in fundraising or lender due diligence.
• Experience in a startup, growth-stage company, manufacturing, industrial technology or project-based environment.
• Strong experience in cash-flow management, financial reporting, audits, internal controls and management reporting.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and strong financial modelling skills.
• Strong working knowledge of Tally, Zoho Books or equivalent accounting/ERP systems.
