Position Summary
The Vice President of Sales (VP of Sales) will be a key member of the senior executive team, reporting directly to the CEO. This role is responsible for leading and managing the entire sales organization for our client. The VP of Sales will drive the company's sales strategy, ensure the achievement of sales goals, and contribute to the overall growth objectives of the company.
Responsibilities
Sales Strategy and Planning:
Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy aligned with the company's goals and market opportunities.
Lead sales forecasting, budgeting, and long-term sales planning.
Provide market analysis and insights to support strategic decision-making by the executive team.
Sales Operations And Management
Oversee daily operations of the sales department, ensuring efficient and effective processes.
Develop and lead new business activities focusing on new dealer acquisitions and new corporate dealer locations
Manage and optimize the sales pipeline, from lead generation to closing deals.
Monitor sales metrics and adjust strategies as needed to achieve targets.
Work closely with operations, logistics and after-sales service to optimize customer experience
Market Expansion And Business Development
Identify and pursue new market opportunities and strategic partnerships.
Develop and execute plans to expand into new regions and product categories.
Drive the growth of partnerships.
Customer Relationship Management
Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and stakeholders.
Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and address any issues promptly.
Develop strategies to enhance customer loyalty and retention.
Team Leadership And Development
Lead and develop the sales team, fostering a culture of high performance and accountability.
Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities for sales staff.
Collaborate with other departments to support overall business objectives.
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; MBA preferred.
Experience
Minimum of 10 years of sales experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
Proven track record of success in sales within retail industries.
Experience managing within a lead generation sales model.
Familiarity with private equity environments and managing stakeholder relationships.
Skills
Strong analytical and strategic planning skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft teams, Excel, CRM software and sales analytics tools.
