Chief Financial Officer (CFO) – Part Time
Elliot Mather LLP have an opportunity for a part time Chief Financial Officer to join the Practice based at our Chesterfield office.
As Chief Financial Officer, you will serve as a strategic partner to the Chief Operations Officer, Senior Leadership Team and Designated Members driving the financial performance and long-term sustainability of Elliot Mather LLP. This role demands a forward-thinking individual with the ability to balance high-level strategy with operational excellence. You will play a leading role in the development of Elliot Mather’s strategy by providing in-depth and insightful analysis ensuring evidence-based decision making.
What the role involves:
- Overseeing all financial operations and financial planning.
- Coordinate, analyse, and report the financial performance to Senior Leadership Team and Designated Members (financial performance, projections, and other special projects as required).
- Prepare short and long-term financial forecasts of financial performance for use with internal management and external parties.
- Oversight of the audit and tax functions, coordinate activities with outside audit firms, and review firms' performance.
- Manage the development, implementation, and maintenance of accounting and administrative policies and procedures for a wide-ranging set of activities including financial accounting and reporting.
- Oversee and own the budget process and guide cross-functional teams in creating, maintaining, and reporting against financial goals.
The ideal candidate will have:
- A strong background in finance and accounting, proven leadership abilities, and the ability to thrive in a challenging environment.
- Experience working in a legal practice
- Qualified accountant with proven experience in changing environments.
- Experience in a previous Financial Director or CFO role.
- Strong understanding of finance and performance management principles.
- Excellent knowledge of corporate financial law and risk management practices.
- Solid knowledge of financial analysis and forecasting.
- Experience in implementing accounting and financial software.
- Strong analytical, presentation and influencing skills at a senior/board level.
Please note: this is a part-time role offering up to £70,000 per annum, which is the full time equivalent The salary will be agreed depending on experience.
