The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will play a pivotal role in driving the financial strategy, operational efficiency, and overall business performance of KSG. This role will lead the development and execution of financial planning, reporting, and risk management, while also overseeing key operational initiatives.
In partnership with the senior leadership team, the CFO will ensure alignment between financial goals and strategic business objectives, optimise resources, mitigate risks, and drive sustainable growth. The role combines financial stewardship with operational leadership to maximise performance and ensure the company’s continued success.

Financial Strategy & Planning:
- Develop and lead the company’s financial strategy, ensuring alignment with overall business goals.
- Oversee short-term and long-term financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation.
- Partner with senior leadership to assess financial performance and determine business opportunities.
Financial Reporting & Governance:
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial results, providing insights and recommendations to both internal stakeholders and investors.
- Lead the preparation and communication of periodic financial statements.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive risk management strategy to mitigate financial, operational, and regulatory risks.
- Oversee internal controls to prevent fraud, errors, and inefficiencies.
- Ensure the company’s financial practices comply with all local, national, and international regulations.
- Oversee external audits and ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements.
Operational Efficiency
- Drive operational efficiency by identifying areas for cost savings, streamlining processes, and optimising resource allocation.
- Provide leadership to the Business Units and operational functions to ensure the successful execution of strategic and operational initiatives that promote business growth and profitability.
- Lead the implementation of technology solutions to improve financial and operational processes.
- Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure financial and operational performance.
- Lead and manage the financial aspects of organisational change, supporting initiatives that improve both financial performance and operational effectiveness.
Stakeholder Management:
- Act as a trusted partner to the CEO and investors, providing financial insights to inform strategic decisions.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to identify growth opportunities and develop action plans to achieve business objectives.
- Manage robust relationships with external stakeholders, including investors, auditors, and financial institutions.
Capital Structure & Fundraising:
- Oversee the company’s capital structure, ensuring sufficient liquidity and an appropriate mix of debt and equity financing.
- Lead fundraising activities, including debt and equity issuance, as needed.
- Seek out M&A opportunities, leading financial due diligence, and ensuring successful integration for long-term value creation.
- Evaluate investment opportunities and manage capital allocation to maximise returns.
Team Leadership & Development:
- Lead the support services functions, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and professional development.
- Oversee recruitment, training, and development of talent to maintain high-performing support services functions.
- Ensure the alignment of departmental goals with the broader business objectives.
Job requirements
Essential
- A degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. A professional qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA is essential
- Significant experience in senior finance roles, preferably a CFO position or equivalent, ideally within a private equity-backed environment
- Proven experience managing financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting in a private equity-backed company or similar
- Proven experience in driving cost optimisation, process improvement, and resource allocation to enhance operational performance
- Proven track record in navigating complex systems implementations and updates
- Proficient in developing and monitoring KPIs to assess both financial and operational performance
- Strong experience in cost management, financial modelling, and delivering value creation in a fast-paced, results-driven environment
- Experience in stakeholder and investor management, including managing relationships with private-equity investors
- Proven experience working in a project-based business, managing long-term, complex projects and associated financials
- Demonstrable experience in managing financial operations in overseas markets
Desirable
- Previous experience in M&A, fundraising, or capital raising
- Experience in managing the financials of a company going through a period of transformation or operational scaling
- Knowledge of the engineering or manufacturing sectors
