- Financial planning: Develop and implement financial strategies to achieve the company's goals
- Cash flow management: Track cash flow and balance revenues and expenses
- Financial reporting: Ensure financial reports are accurate, comprehensive, and submitted on time
- Risk management: Identify, assess, and control threats to the company's capital, earnings, and operations
- Strategic planning: Work with the CEO and board to develop strategies that align with the company's goals
- Investment decision-making: Help decide how to allocate capital and obtain debt and equity financing
- Cost management: Manage costs to help the company achieve its financial goals
- Regulatory compliance: Ensure the company complies with financial regulations
Reporting structure
- The CFO reports to the CEO
- The CFO works closely with the CEO to align financial strategies with the company's overall goals
Team management
- The CFO leads the finance and accounting team, which includes controllers, VPs of finance, accountants, bookkeepers, tax specialists, and data analysts
