OTUS Financial Solutions is looking for a vCFO/Fractional CFO to join our growing team. This is a part-time contract position, providing financial and executive advisory services for our clients.
The work is generally remote, but onsite client work may be required, this would require the use of a vehicle.
Advanced knowledge of and experience in general accounting for not-for-profits, associations, and charities is highly desirable.
· Review of monthly internal financial statements, including review of supporting documentation, to provide assurance relevant to the integrity of your financial information and to identify items requiring further investigation or action
· Analysis of financial information to make it meaningful and useful for management purposes
· Regular meetings with you and members of your executive as required, and periodic meetings with the Audit Finance Committee of the Board of Directors, to review financial matters
· Input from you in preparation of annual financial plans (budget), cash flow forecasts (if required), and revenue and expense forecasts
· Review of revenue and expense variances (actual vs. budget) and preparation of recommendations to address them
· Preparation of financial KPI’s that will serve as indicators of the financial health of your business and gauge your performance over time
· Performance of an annual review of banking arrangements, negotiation of financing if required, optimization of banking fees and maximization of rate of return on investments within established risk tolerance levels
· Facilitation of year-end matters with your public accountant, including review of your financial statements and attendance at meetings
· Identification of opportunities that will improve your financial management infrastructure
· Financial coaching and advisory services as required
Required Skills
· Professional accountant (i.e., CPA designation) in good standing.
· Minimum 5+ years’ experience in a senior management or executive role.
· Experience in the not-for-profit sector as well as registered charity experience is required.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills across all levels of the organization.
· Knowledge and experience in bookkeeping for not-for-profits, associations, and charities
· Working in a cloud-based, paperless environment
· Strong familiarity with Google Workspace
· Vehicle, cell phone, and laptop required
