Our client, an innovative and growing organization in the defence and aerospace technology sector, is seeking a Sales Operations Manager to join their team in Ottawa.

About the Role
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the Sales Operations Manager will play a critical role in supporting the full sales cycle — from managing smaller opportunities and preparing technical quotes to coordinating with suppliers and internal teams to ensure successful delivery.
This role blends technical sales, operational coordination, and customer engagement, making it ideal for professionals who enjoy working at the intersection of technology, business development, and operations.
The position will start fully remote, with plans to transition to a hybrid work model in Ottawa within approximately six months.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Revenue Support
- Manage smaller sales opportunities and customer inquiries (typically under $200K).
- Prepare technical quotes and respond to RFIs and RFPs.
- Provide product information to customers and coordinate with international suppliers for technical details.
Sales Operations & Coordination
- Support internal sales workflows and coordinate with project management and sales administration teams.
- Assist with procurement processes and operational activities related to product delivery.
- Support smaller solicitations and quoting processes.
Client & Supplier Engagement
- Participate in client meetings, product demonstrations, and industry trade shows.
- Travel occasionally within Canada and internationally to visit suppliers and attend events.
Future Growth Opportunities
- Potential pathway toward leadership, project management, or business capture roles as the company continues to scale.

- Managing sales opportunities end-to-end and successfully closing deals.
- Developing strong technical knowledge of the company’s product portfolio.

- Contributing to revenue growth through new opportunities and customer engagement.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Experience
- 5+ years of experience in technical sales or a related technical/commercial role.
- Defence or military sector experience is considered a strong asset but not required.
- Experience within technical industries such as engineering, manufacturing, IT, SaaS, or hardware solutions is highly relevant.
Skills
- Strong technical aptitude with the ability to understand complex products.
- Excellent communication and client relationship skills.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented (quoting, documentation, procurement processes).
- Independent self-starter comfortable working in a remote environment.
- Interest in the defence and military technology sector.
Security & Compliance Requirements
- Must be eligible to pass Controlled Goods Program screening.
- Must be eligible to obtain Secret Security Clearance if required.
- Candidates typically must have lived in Canada for the past 5 years.
Compensation
- Base Salary: $80,000 – $100,000+ (flexible depending on experience)
- Commission: ~1.5% of revenue
- Estimated On-Target Earnings: $98,000 – $118,000+
