Chief Financial Officer (CFO) – Skylight Lending

As we scale, we seek a strategic and hands-on Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to drive financial growth, optimize capital structure, and lead financial operations.
Position Summary
The CFO will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities, ensuring compliance, and leading capital market strategies, including tax equity financing, securitizations, and ABS transactions. The ideal candidate will bring deep industry expertise, strong attention to detail, and a proactive approach to financial leadership.
Key Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 7 years of progressive accounting and financial leadership experience, preferably in consumer finance, renewable energy finance, or related sectors.
- Tax Equity Expertise: Direct experience structuring and executing tax equity transactions within the solar industry.
- Capital Markets & Securitization: Strong understanding of ABS transactions, securitizations, and growth equity investments is highly preferred.
- Financial Reporting & Compliance: Proven track record in financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and risk management.
- Strategic Acumen: Ability to develop and execute financial strategies aligned with business growth and market dynamics.
- Industry Connections: Extensive network within finance, solar, and capital markets to support fundraising and strategic initiatives.
- Leadership: Proactive and detail-oriented leader who can work closely with executive teams, investors, and external partners.
Roles and Responsibilities
Financial Strategy & Leadership
- Serve as a key strategic advisor to the CEO and executive team on financial matters.
- Develop and execute financial strategies to optimize capital structure and support long-term growth.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning initiatives.
Capital Markets & Tax Equity Transactions
- Structure, negotiate, and close tax equity transactions to drive solar project financing.
- Oversee ABS transactions, securitizations, and growth equity investments to support capital market initiatives.
- Maintain and expand relationships with investors, lenders, and financial institutions.
Financial Operations & Risk Management
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, including GAAP compliance and audits.
- Oversee cash flow management, liquidity planning, and financial risk assessments.
- Implement financial controls, policies, and compliance measures.
Investor & Stakeholder Relations
- Lead investor relations and fundraising activities to secure growth capital.
- Present financial reports, KPIs, and strategic insights to the board and stakeholders.
- Represent Skylight Lending in high-level financial negotiations and industry events.
Team Leadership & Growth
- Build and mentor a high-performing finance team.
- Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and excellence within the finance department.
