A rapidly growing public startup in the energy sector is seeking a strategic and results-driven
Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead its finance and accounting functions. This is a pivotal role for an experienced finance leader with public company expertise, SEC reporting proficiency, and IPO experience. Reporting directly to the
CEO, the CFO will work closely with senior leadership to drive financial strategy, ensure regulatory compliance, and position the company for sustained growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Strategy: Develop and execute financial strategies that align with business goals and support long-term growth.
- Financial Reporting & Compliance: Oversee SEC filings, earnings reports, and annual statements, ensuring full compliance with public company regulations.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the budgeting process, create financial forecasts, and analyze variances to drive informed decision-making.
- Investor Relations: Partner with the CEO and Board of Directors to manage investor relations, earnings calls, and shareholder communications.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate financial risks to ensure the company's financial health and stability.
- Team Leadership: Build and develop a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a senior finance leadership role (CFO, CAO, or VP of Finance).
- Public company experience is required, with expertise in SEC reporting and IPO processes.
- In-depth knowledge of GAAP, SEC regulations, and public company compliance.
- Oil & Gas/Energy sector experience is required.
- Startup experience is highly preferred, particularly in scaling financial operations.
- Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and communication skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (MBA and CPA preferred).
