The opportunity to drive the finance function of a company with revenue of circa $100M operating within the aviation/airline industry is highly attractive. Based in Brisbane, Australia, the Chief Financial Officer will lead a professional team, ensuring effective financial strategy and risk management, critical to the sustainable growth and continued profitability of the business.
The opportunity:
Working closely with the CEO, this position will be responsible for the robust management of all financial operations. More specifically, your role will include:
- Maintenance of compliance with finance, tax and corporate legislation and implementation of effective risk management strategies.
- Generation of accurate and timely financial reports, and analysis of financial data to identify trends and opportunities.
- Driving process improvements and efficiencies including the adoption of financial technologies to streamline operations.
- Providing strong mentorship of the finance team, setting clear objectives and encouraging professional development.
- Creating and managing budgets and financial models in order to facilitate strategic business decisions.
- Implementing cost-saving initiatives and negotiating contracts as required.
- Managing financial negotiations to ensure optimisation of financial outcomes.
- Close collaboration with operational and commercial teams to develop and execute strategic initiatives.
You will offer:
- A professional qualification in accounting with further post graduate study such as an MBA highly desirable.
- Comprehensive experience in a similar strategic financial management and leadership role, ideally within aviation/airline or a related transport sector.
- Demonstrated capability across financial planning and analysis.
- Excellent understanding of regulatory and legislative compliance.
- Proven success in the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives within a complex business environment.
- Professionalism, outstanding business acumen and the ability to foster long term relationships with key stakeholders.
