Business Operations Associate
Location: Bangalore (In-office) | Type: Full-time
Role Overview:
As a Business Operations Associate at Kalakar, you will play a key role in ensuring smooth daily operations across customer support, order fulfillment, and inventory management. We're looking for a detail-oriented, proactive individual who thrives on structure, clear communication, and delivering exceptional customer experiences. You’ll be a part of the Operations team and work closely with the founder, gaining deep exposure to the backend of a growing D2C brand.
Key Responsibility Areas:
1. Customer Support & Order Fulfillment:
- Call and confirm all customer orders placed on Kalakar’s website
- Maintain and regularly update the master order tracker
- Share confirmed order details with the packaging team & ensure timely pickup of orders by coordinating with respective logistic partners
- Track order progress daily and proactively resolve delays or escalations
- Ensure all customer queries, concerns, and grievances are addressed within defined timelines to enhance brand experience
- Assist customers in their purchase journey to improve conversions
- Respond to customer queries through phone, WhatsApp, and email within defined timelines
2. Inventory & Stock Management:
- Maintain and regularly update the master stock tracker
- Monitor inventory levels and flag potential shortages in advance
- Coordinate with suppliers and artisans for timely restocking as per monthly forecast
- Ensure daily and weekly stock keeping processes are followed
- Monitor packaging material availability and ensure timely replenishment
3. Logistics & Operations Coordination:
- Coordinate with logistics partners such as Shiprocket and Delhivery to ensure smooth operations
- Manage the inbound and outbound flow of goods in an organized manner
- Track shipments and ensure timely delivery to customers
- Follow internal processes to minimize returns and failed deliveries
- Maintain proper records of supply-related and logistics cost bills
4. Team & Process Support:
- Lead the hiring and onboarding of packaging team members
- Train and supervise packaging staff, monitor their performance, and ensure smooth coordination within the team
- Ensure strict adherence to operational processes and internal guidelines
What You'll Learn:
- Gain end-to-end exposure to D2C operations, from order processing to last-mile delivery
- Build hands-on expertise in customer support and logistics coordination
- Learn inventory tracking, demand forecasting, and vendor management
- Work closely with the founder, who brings 10+ years of experience across A-list consumer internet, retail, and B2B brands
Who We're Looking For:
- Prior experience in e-commerce, operations, or customer service
- A Graduate from any discipline
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Hindi
- Proficiency in basic Excel/Google Sheets, mainly the entire G-suit
- Highly organized with attention to detail and the ability to multitask
