Our client, a well-established, ancillary cannabis business with national operations and a strong track record of organic growth, is seeking a strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join their executive leadership team.
They are seeking a strategic, results-driven CFO to lead all aspects of financial planning, operations, compliance, and reporting. The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise in management accounting, and financial reporting with strong leadership and execution skills.
As a key member of the executive leadership team, the CFO will drive growth strategy, support informed decision-making, ensure compliance, and cultivate a high-performance finance function.
This is a full-time position, requiring onsite leadership in Jacksonville. FL. Relocation support will be offered to the right candidate.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Strategy & Planning
- Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with organizational goals.
- Serve as a strategic advisor to the CEO and Board, providing financial insights and recommendations.
- Lead company and departmental budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation to support growth and operational efficiency.
Management Accounting
- Oversee cost accounting, margin analysis, and budgetary controls.
- Deliver accurate performance analyses, trend reports, and variance explanations.
- Implement systems and processes to enhance financial visibility and accountability.
Tax Strategy & Corporation Compliance
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations; coordinate tax filings with external CPAs.
- Optimize tax planning strategies and distribution planning to minimize liabilities.
- Monitor tax law changes and assess financial impact.
Financial Reporting & Controls
- Lead preparation of accurate, timely financial statements and internal/external reports.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and company policies.
- Manage audit processes and maintain strong internal controls.
Transactional Oversight
- Oversee all financial transactions including M&A, capital raises, and restructuring.
- Conduct due diligence and financial modeling for strategic opportunities.
- Ensure integration and alignment of financial systems during corporate transitions.
Ethics, Governance & Risk Management
- Promote ethical conduct, impartiality, and financial transparency.
- Serve as a neutral steward of shareholder interests in financial decisions.
- Establish and monitor risk management and internal audit functions.
Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Build and lead a high-performing finance team with a culture of excellence and accountability.
- Partner with department heads to align financial and operational plans.
- Champion continuous improvement and data-informed decision-making across departments.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (Master’s/MBA preferred).
- CPA, CMA, or other relevant professional certification strongly preferred.
Experience
- 10+ years of progressive finance leadership experience (including CFO, VP Finance, or similar).
- Demonstrated expertise in financial strategy, accounting, S Corp tax structure, and transactions.
- Proven success leading finance in a growth-stage or entrepreneurial organization.
Skills
- Deep understanding of GAAP, corporate taxation, and S Corp compliance.
- Strategic thinker with exceptional analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Proficient in modern financial systems; able to build and scale reporting infrastructure.
- Excellent communication skills; able to distill complex financial topics for diverse audiences.
- Effective leader and collaborator with a bias for action and results.
