Position: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Direct Reports: Controllers across Canada and International Operations
About the Opportunity
We are recruiting on behalf of a Canadian company with international operations for a strategic and forward-thinking Chief Financial Officer (CFO). This is a unique opportunity to shape the financial and operational future of a global business, leading finance, risk management, IT, and strategic planning across multiple markets.
As CFO, you will be a trusted advisor to the CEO and Executive Leadership Team, providing insight and direction that enables sustainable growth, operational excellence, and international expansion.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive global financial strategy, ensuring accurate reporting, compliance, and actionable insight across all markets.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of controllers in Canada, Global Markets, fostering collaboration and high performance.
- Partner with the CEO and executive leadership to shape strategic initiatives, including innovation, operational efficiency, and capital allocation.
- Implement and oversee internal controls, company-wide policies, and risk management frameworks.
- Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling to provide clear insight for business decisions and Board reporting.
- Oversee cash management, banking relationships, credit facilities, and insurance risk.
- Identify opportunities to leverage technology and process improvements to drive efficiency and scalability.
Skills & Qualifications
- CPA designation required; MBA preferred.
- 15+ years of progressive finance leadership, with proven experience in multinational operations.
- Demonstrated expertise in corporate governance, strategic planning, and fundraising initiatives.
- Strong leadership, negotiation, and influencing skills across executive teams.
- Deep knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, accounting systems, and global compliance requirements.
- Exceptional decision-making, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Willingness to travel overseas, potentially 1-2 times per year.

Compensation & Benefits
- Base Salary: CAD 240,000-280,000
- Annual Bonus: 15–25% of base, performance-linked.
