What Will You Be Doing?
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is responsible for leading and managing initiatives and all personnel within the Accounting, Human Resource, and Technology functions. They will serve as a key member of the Leadership team, responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the company. They are also integral in working with the Leadership team on continuous improvement projects. Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Provide leadership and management for the Accounting, Human Resources, and Technology personnel including coaching, maintaining positive morale, and recruiting.
- Develop and execute strategic plans across accounting, human resources, and technology functions.
- Collaborate with the Leadership Team to enhance overall business practices and processes for greater efficiency, effectiveness, and client value.
- Work with the owners and Leadership Team to develop and implement short- and long-term business strategies.
- Assist with the preparation, review, and analysis of the monthly and year-end financial statements following GAAP. Provide counsel to both the Leadership team and ownership regarding the company's financial position.
- Create and implement appropriate financial control and oversight processes consistent with the requirements of the company's financial, legal, and accounting suppliers. Work with ownership to review current business tax requirements and ensure appropriate compliance.
- Develop and maintain positive business relationships with financial organizations, accounting consultants, insurance agents/carriers and legal counsel supporting the organization.
- Review, modify, and approve all client and vendor contracts.
- Work with the Sales, Client Service, and ownership teams to effectively manage vendor credit and client receivables.
- Collaborate with the owners to create and manage team member health and welfare plans, profit sharing, 401(k), and other benefit plans that cost-effectively provide quality benefits.
- Ensure human resources policies and practices comply with local, state, and federal employment laws. Join the Leadership team in promoting a positive culture of continuous learning, diversity, and inclusion.
- Develop short- and long-term technology strategies that promote efficiency, effectiveness, and client value, with input from the Leadership team and owners. Identify emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, and determine their function within the organization.
- Lead the implementation of digital automation throughout the company to improve the accuracy and efficiency of our processes while reducing time spent by team members on tedious tasks.
- Effectively manage capital investments, especially those related to technology, including capital and operational expenditures. Evaluate, select, and manage vendor relationships and technology contracts to ensure value and performance.
- Work with external providers and internal teams to manage the network and business systems including cybersecurity, disaster recovery, training, troubleshooting, automation and developing best practices. Establish and enforce cybersecurity policies and protocols to protect company data and systems.
Do You Have the Experience, Knowledge, and Abilities We’re Looking For?
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting and CPA required.
- At least 10 years of experience in financial roles, including managing cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically while maintaining a hands-on approach when necessary.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with various teams and stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to understand and explain complex financial and other data along with creating and managing reporting.
- Proficient in software applications, with a strong emphasis on advanced Excel capabilities.
Pre‐employment testing, including a drug screen and background check, will be required prior to hire.
